The Storytellers Project is a part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, bringing true, live, first-person storytelling to 21 host cities across the country.  Each story on stage is coached by journalists in the USA TODAY Network.

The 2022 series kicked off in Rochester NY on March 9 at Comedy at the Carlson at 7 PM with the topic "Growing Up".

I am excited to have been a storyteller in this event, and especially thankful for the coaching by Michael Killian, Executive Editor; Jiji Lee, Comedy Writer, Storyteller & Comedian; Tracy Schuhmacher, Food and Drink Reporter;  Katie Borrelli, Storytelling Reporter; and Sheila Rayam Executive Editor of the Observer-Dispatch in Utica and The Times Telegram in Herkimer.

My story, "What's in a Name?" told about my experiences growing up with an Italian last name,  from an old city neighborhood in Syracuse, NY to the little country town of mooing cows "Where Life Is Worth Living" of Webster NY, and ultimately exchanging cows for cabs in NYC.
